Knock Knock

Nobody's home!

Pirate Party

I convinced Riley to have a pirate birthday party. I found really cool game ideas online and he agreed. It was a nice little party with a few friends from school and a few family friends his age in attendance. The kids walked the plank and went on a treasure hunt. He really enjoyed being the center of attention and could not believe that all the presents were for him. Riley kept seeing Reese's name on his gifts because they were from Reese, but was really excited when they were for him!

Patience Is Paying Off

This is a big week for Riley. Santa Claus is coming tomorrow with presents, and Saturday is his pirate birthday party! He is so excited for these events and has been waiting a long time for them.

The one thing I think he is not eagerly awaiting is I have told him that when he turns five, he needs to give up sucking his thumb. It is about that time and I actually don't think that he sucks it at school, but he does at home when he is watching tv or when he is tired. We need to give it up permanently, and we'll see how it goes!

The First Snow of the Season

Riley was so excited this morning to wake up to snow on the ground. Although I picked out his clothes, he got dressed by himself, put on his boots and coat, and tried to put on his hat. This is more that he does on a school day by himself! He insisted that we take his shovel along and could not wait to go outside. Now, this is a boy that likes to work! While I was cleaning off the car to get going, Riley is starting to shovel around the car and even the grass. I have to say he is very good at shoveling; I hope that when he is a teenager, I can still say the same thing!

The Aftermath of Going to Kids Hospibal

When Riley tells the story of going to the hospital, he tell people he went to the kids hospibal. He seens to be doing okay. The stomach virus is gone, and he still complains about having a headache, but not as often. I think that it might have something to do with his allergies or possibly he may have a sinus infection. I came down with a dull headache which became a throbbing one on Saturday and continues today. Maybe he really had a sinus infection which is what I think I may have. But, if his head hurt as much as mine does, I can see why it was debilitating to him.
